You can’t manifest a new height, bone structure or eye color. Your bones stop growing longer once your growth plates close, sometime in your teens. What manifestation can genuinely change is the dream body that lives in your head and your habits: how you see yourself, how you carry yourself, and whether you keep showing up for the things that leave you feeling strong, rested and well.
That’s still a lot. Most people who search for “how to manifest your dream body” are really after a feeling. Confidence in photos. Ease in their own skin. Energy for the things they love. Those respond to attention and repetition, which is exactly what the Law of Attraction asks of you.
Is It Possible to Manifest Your Dream Body?
Yes, if your dream body means one you feel at home in and look after. No, if it means swapping the frame you were born with for a different one.

Manifestation teachers say your body is subject to the same Universal Laws as everything else in existence. The Law of Attraction holds that you attract what you focus on, and the Law of Assumption holds that when you assume you already have what you want, reality reshapes itself to match.
We draw the line here. These practices work through your thoughts, choices and routines, and those don’t reach your DNA. A promise that they do only sets you up to feel you’ve failed at something that was never possible.
How to Manifest Your Dream Body With the Law of Attraction
1. Get Clear on What You Really Want
Before you begin, take an honest inventory of your intention. Ask yourself what you’d have if your body changed. More confidence? Less worry at the beach? Someone’s approval?
If the goal is getting other people to like you, a new look won’t deliver it, because you can’t know what others want to see and the goalposts keep moving. Manifestation works best when you’re aligned with your true will. So write your intention as something you’ll feel or do: “I feel strong walking up the hill to school.” “I enjoy getting dressed in the morning.” “I have the energy to dance all night.” Those are wishes the Universe, and you, can actually deliver.
2. Catch Your Limiting Beliefs
The next step is to notice the beliefs that are holding you back.

They sound like “I’m ugly”, “I’ll never look good” or “everyone’s staring at my nose”. Write them down when they pop up. You don’t have to fight them. Just see them for what they are, thoughts you’ve repeated for a long time, not facts about you.
Some of these beliefs are much louder than a passing thought. If worry about one part of your appearance is eating hours of your day, read the warning signs further down this page before you go on.
3. Focus On More of What You Want, Not Less of What You Don’t
According to the Law of Correspondence, your outer reality reflects your inner world. If every look in the mirror is a hunt for flaws, the hunt is what you’re practicing.
Move your attention instead. Notice what your body does for you today: the legs that carried you to class, the hands that draw or type or cook, the lungs that let you laugh. Practitioners call this living from the end, feeling complete now instead of waiting for some future version of you to arrive. A gratitude practice is an easy way in. Before bed, thank your body for three things it did that day.
4. Visualize Yourself Living Well in Your Body

Visualization sits at the heart of most manifestation methods, and there’s a version of it that research backs. In a series of studies, people who believed a good outcome was likely put in more effort and did better, while people who simply enjoyed rosy daydreams about the outcome did worse. Pairing the dream with an honest look at where you are now made people commit strongly to goals they expected to reach, and less to goals they didn’t.
Visualize in two parts, then. First the feeling: you, relaxed and confident, laughing in a photo you’d normally hide from. Then the path: lacing up for a walk, eating a meal that leaves you full of energy, going to bed on time, and what you’ll do when the sofa calls instead.
Then carry yourself with pride, today. Stand tall, roll your shoulders back and walk like someone who already feels good. Posture is an appearance change you can make in an instant, and our confidence-building exercises give you more ways to practice feeling it. If skin is your focus, the same method applies, and we’ve written a separate guide to manifesting clear skin.
5. Say Affirmations You Can Believe
Affirmations swap limiting beliefs for kinder ones, and saying them in the present tense draws on the Law of Assumption. Choose them with care, though. In two experiments, people with low self-esteem who repeated “I’m a lovable person” ended up feeling worse than people who didn’t, while people with high self-esteem felt only a little better. A line your mind instantly argues with can backfire, and “I am tall” or “I am beautiful” can be exactly that kind of line on a bad day.
Pick affirmations that are true, or on their way to being true:
- “My body carries me through every day.”
- “I’m learning to treat my body with kindness.”
- “I get a little stronger every week.”
- “I’m allowed to take up space.”
- “I like the way I look when I’m laughing.”
Once those feel natural, reach a little further. Our list of Law of Assumption affirmations has plenty more to adapt.
6. Show Faith in the Process
Faith, in manifestation, means acting as though the change is already on its way. Practitioners often suggest buying something you’ll use once your wish arrives. Point that same idea at something you control. Leave your sneakers by the door the night before. Fill a water bottle and keep it on your desk. Sign up for the dance class or the swimming lessons. Buy an outfit that fits the body you have now and makes you feel great in it.
Each of these tells your subconscious “this is who I am”, and each one makes the next good choice easier. A manifestation journal is a good place to log these small acts of faith and how they made you feel.
7. Let the Universe Guide You Through Synchronicity
As you send positive energy out about the way you want to feel in your body, many manifesters say the Universe answers with hints. A friend invites you to a climbing wall. A recipe catches your eye. Your school posts tryouts for a team. Follow those nudges, because they’re often the practical step your manifestation was waiting for.
Some “signs” are tests you pass by saying no. A detox tea, a diet that has you skipping meals, a pill or stretching program that promises extra inches, an online challenge built around eating less: none of those is the Universe guiding you. If you want to change how you eat, talk to a parent or a doctor first, especially while you’re still growing. Moving your body is a much better sign to follow. The World Health Organization says that in children and teenagers, physical activity promotes bone health, healthy growth and muscle development, and improves movement and thinking skills.
Can You Use the Law of Attraction to Change Bone Structure?

No. Stories of manifested bone changes do go round the manifestation community, and the debate keeps coming back. But the length and shape of your long bones are set by growth plates, areas of tissue near the ends of the bones in children and teens, and once you’ve finished growing they close and turn into solid bone. No thought, affirmation or subliminal reopens them or reshapes your face.
What can change sits on top of the bone. Stronger muscles change how your shoulders, back and neck look, and a good night’s sleep and a real smile change how your face looks today. If a bone problem is medical, like a jaw that makes chewing painful or a curve in your spine, that’s one for a doctor. Practitioners would say the Universe answers that kind of wish by leading you to the right one.
Can You Use the Law of Attraction to Change Your Height?
This is the claim we most want to put to rest: thinking “I am short” doesn’t keep you short, and thinking “I am tall” doesn’t make you taller. Scientists estimate that about 80 percent of a person’s height comes from the gene variants they inherited, with a smaller part from things like nutrition. Those other things matter during childhood: a well-nourished, healthy, active child is likely to end up taller than a child with a poor diet, infections or poor health care.
If you’re still growing, the most powerful “height manifestation” there is sounds boring and is real: eat enough, sleep well and stay active, so you reach the top of your own range. If you’re worried you aren’t growing, ask a parent to book a doctor’s appointment. Once you’ve finished growing, good posture won’t add an inch, but it shows off every one you’ve got.
Can You Use the Law of Attraction to Change Your Eye or Hair Color?
Your eye color, no. Your hair color, yes, though the Universe will want you to buy the dye.
Eye color comes from the amount of a pigment called melanin in the front of your iris, and it’s set by variations in your genes. Eye color subliminals are popular, but listening to one won’t change your iris. Watch for the one real exception: different-colored eyes can come from a disease or injury to the eye, so if one of your eyes starts to look a different color, see an eye doctor rather than celebrating a manifestation.
If you want a new eye color for a party or a season, the American Academy of Ophthalmology says the safest way is colored contact lenses, prescribed and fitted by a qualified eye professional. In the US, the FDA treats decorative lenses as medical devices, not cosmetics, and says places selling them without a prescription are breaking the law. The reason is your sight. Lenses that aren’t kept clean with the proper solution can lead to bacterial infections, which the FDA says can cause blindness, sometimes within as little as 24 hours if they aren’t diagnosed and treated promptly.
Skip surgery altogether: the Academy warns against iris implants and the laser procedure that puts pigment into the cornea, both trending on social media, because both carry serious risks of vision loss.
Hair color is a different story, and here manifestation gets to be pure fun: choosing your shade, picturing yourself with it, enjoying the reveal. Ask a parent first if you’re young, and do the safety step the NHS recommends, testing the dye on a strand of your hair at least 48 hours before you use it. If you’ve ever reacted to hair dye or had a black henna tattoo, the NHS advises avoiding dyes that contain PPD.
When Wanting a Different Body Starts to Hurt
Manifestation should leave you feeling lighter. If it’s doing the opposite, pause the practice.
The NHS describes body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) as a mental health condition where you spend a lot of time worrying about flaws in your appearance that others often can’t even see, and says it’s most common in teenagers and young adults. Signs include worrying a lot about one area (often the face), comparing your looks with other people’s a lot, checking mirrors constantly or avoiding them completely, and going to great lengths to hide what you see as flaws.
Eating disorders can start in a similar place. The NHS lists signs like spending a lot of time worrying about your weight and body shape, avoiding plans where there’ll be food, making yourself sick or taking laxatives, and very strict rules around food, along with physical signs such as dizziness, a racing heart or fainting.
If any of that sounds like you, tell a parent or another adult you trust, and see a doctor. The NHS says to see a GP as soon as you can if you think you may have an eating disorder, and that BDD probably won’t go away without treatment. Both can get better with help. You can also talk to someone on a helpline:
- UK: Beat’s eating disorder helpline, 0808 801 0677 in England, with separate numbers for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
- US: ANAD’s free eating disorder helpline, 1-888-375-7767.
- India: Tele MANAS, the government’s mental health helpline, on 14416 or 1-800-891-4416.
Sometimes hating how you look slides into thinking about ending your life. If that’s where you are, please talk to someone today. In the US, call or text 988. In the UK, you can ring Samaritans on 116 123, free, at any time of the day or night. In India, Tele MANAS is on 14416. Wherever you live, your local emergency number will get you help too. You deserve support now, not once things get worse.
How Long Does It Take to Manifest Your Dream Body?
The inner shift can come quickly. You might notice the difference in the very first week you stop picking yourself apart in the mirror. Habits take longer. In one well-known study of how habits form, it took people an average of 66 days for a new daily habit to stick, but the range ran from 18 to 254 days. Give a new routine a couple of months before you judge it, and don’t read a slow start as a sign it isn’t working.
While you wait, keep loving and accepting the body you have. Manifesters say that every time you do, you raise your frequency toward the reality you want. Whatever you believe about frequency, those months are better spent liking yourself than waiting until you’re allowed to.
